About This Procedure:

An electrocardiogram (EKG) measures the heart's rhythm to check that it is beating normally.  The EKG reads the heart’s electrical activity through pads placed on the chest.  EKGs are done to explain reasons for chest pain or shortness of breath, study the thickness of the heart, and as a part of a heart health screening to gather basic information about the heart.

The cost of the test, which takes about 10 minutes, varies depending on if it is done in a less costly setting like a doctor’s office compared to an outpatient clinic.

Included In This Price:

The price covers just this one service – often done in a doctor's office. This price does not include any other care like a visit, test or medication.
