About This Procedure:
An x-ray of the hip can show damage or disease to the joint like bone disorders or breaks, dislocated joints, arthritis, or cancer. X-rays use radiation, like light or radio waves, that beam through you to show a picture of the hip.
The procedure’s price varies a lot as it can be done in a number of settings – like a doctor’s office, an outpatient center, or a hospital outpatient department. Alternatives to an x-ray include MRI, ultrasound, or CT scans though these scanning services are much more expensive.
