About This Procedure:

A telehealth visit is a patient-doctor visit that happens online using computers. You discuss your health with the doctor, nurse or other clinician on your computer or one that is convenient for you. The computer is equipped with audio, video, and internet access.   You talk with the doctor “face-to-face” on the computer screen and depending upon your condition you can show the doctor things like your range of motion, a skin condition, or the healing of a wound.

Telehealth is a way to work with your clinician when it is difficult to visit in person because you are too far away or you cannot easily travel.   It is used for many types of patient-doctor visits ranging from regular check-ins for an ongoing health problem to counseling for mental health problems.

A telehealth visit costs less than a regular doctor office visit.  It is a convenient way for a patient and doctor to connect.
